What to expect ?

An incredible outing to Ile Plate!

Located in the north of Mauritius, about 8 nautical miles from Grand Baie, Île Plate is the largest of the northern islands. Close to nearby Gabriel Island, Île Plate is dominated by a large hill, from which rises a lighthouse. Today a sanctuary for numerous bird species, the island was once used as a quarantine area for Indian immigrants wishing to settle in Mauritius. There’s a magnificent 40-minute trail leading to the top of the lighthouse.

L'ile plate, an unspoilt place

Ile Plate offers the privilege of enjoying an unspoilt, untamed island paradise, ideal for spending a day, half a day or just a few hours relaxing and enjoying yourself.

The underwater explorations are grandiose and accessible just a few meters from the shore, the immaculate sand is a real call to relaxation, and a beautiful one-hour walk is possible to the island’s lighthouse.

There are also remnants of the island, such as the Governor’s House. At the northernmost tip of Île Plate is the famous Pigeon Rock, famous for shark snorkeling.
